THE FATHER’S CARE

Bible Text: Matthew 6:25-32
Memory Verse: “For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Matthew 6:32, NIV
One Sunday, a man came to his Pastor and asked, if it’s true that God cares. “I was giving more to God when I was earning little but the reverse is the case now that I am earning more. Would you pray for me?” The Pastor prayed, LORD would you please take this brother back to where he was earning less money so he can start giving.”
As evident from the above story, the Father’s care cannot be over emphasised in the passage for today. Many times the disciples were told to “take no thought” over some things. This is an idiom of the time which means that they were not to worry. The Father’s care is seen in the examples of the “worry free life” given by Jesus; the birds (vs. 25, 26), the flowers (vs. 28, 29), and grass (vs.30). Being the Creator, the LORD challenges the believers of all ages to trust in Him for His provision and care.
Worry is to be faced as a sin since we have a Father who cares. Banish worry from your mind by faith and prayerfully cast all your burdens upon the LORD (1 Peter 5:7). He has asked that you worry not and make your request known to Him through Christ Jesus in prayers.
Insight: We are under the “much more” care of God, let us relax into His provisions.
Prayer: God, I believe in your care, help my unbelief.
