Victory over Babylon
Read Isaiah 14:9-11
9 Sheol (Hades, the place of the dead) below is stirred up to meet you at your coming [O tyrant Babylonian rulers]; it stirs up the shades of the dead to greet you—even all the chief ones of the earth; it raises from their thrones [in astonishment at your humbled condition] all the kings of the nations.
10 All of them will [tauntingly] say to you, Have you also become weak as we are? Have you become like us?
11 Your pomp and magnificence are brought down to Sheol (the underworld), along with the sound of your harps; the maggots [which prey upon dead bodies] are spread out under you and worms cover you [O Babylonian rulers].
MEMORIZE: And he shouted with a mighty voice, She is fallen! Mighty Babylon is fallen! She has become a resort and dwelling place for demons, a dungeon haunted by every loathsome spirit, an abode for every filthy and detestable bird.

EXPOSITION
Who can believe that Babylon that great city can fall flat? The fall of Babylon was great. She was once the cynosure of the earth, and the pride of the nation’s, but eventually lost its glory and was ruined. God brought total destruction on Babylon and ruined it’s pride, until finally Babylon met itself in hell: He’ll from beneath is excited about you, to meet you at your coming. Your pomp is brought down to sheol, And the sound of your stringed instruments, the maggot is spread under you, and worms cover you (Isa. 14v9a, 11, cf.Jer.50v1ff).
Babylon represents anything that is anti-God in life. Your Babylon shall be pull down, in Jesus name. If Babylon is still standing in the life of a child of God, God’s will would be too difficult for him to do. Babylon may mean the kingdom of darkness and the devil in one’s heart and life. It represents the reign of Satan anywhere. The spirit of Babylon shall die in the hearts of our youths, who are tilting towards worldliness-gaming, cyber crime, prostitution, drug abuse, etc., in Jesus name. The prevalence of atrocities in our world today is a show of the activities of the Spirt of Babylon. Until God broke the power of Babylon, Judah continued to suffer from captivity, slavery and untold hardship in the hand of this powerful captor.
The church of God needs to rise up against the activities of the devil, the antichrist and all the end-time powers that are out to render the church’s world evangelisation mandate impotent and non-profiting. You cannot joke with the spirit of Babylon and the Anti-Christ in your life, your family and ministry. You must resist the devil and make him flee by Christ’s power (Jas.4v7). Rejoice, for your Babylon is absolutely conquered by the victory in Christ Jesus (1 Cor.15v57). Amen.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Every anti-God spirit in my life and ministry, crumble, in Jesus name.
2. The power to fight and win my spiritual battles, come upon me, in Jesus name.
3. O Lord, let the spirit of Babylon and Anti-christ loose their grip on our youths and children, in schools and workplaces, in Jesus name.
