TOPIC: THE COMING WOES
READ: Ezekiel 14:12-23
[12] The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,
[13] Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
[14] Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.
[15] If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:
[16] Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.
[17] Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
[18] Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.
[19] Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
[20] Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
[21] For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
[22] Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.
[23] And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.
MEMORISE:
One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after these things (Revelation 9:12).
EXPOSITION
Toward the complete redemption of the saints in all the nations and generations of the world, the apocalyptic seals of trials are meant to be opened. This is said to be mandatory and inescapable for all the sons and daughters of the kingdom of God, to perfect them, that they may be made ready for heaven. This is intended to “remove” all remnants of the flesh or the fallen Adamic nature of sin in all the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Four WOES are prophesied, that shall “try” the whole world. They include, Sword (war), Famine, Death, and Evil spirits. It is called the “hour of temptation” (Rev. 3:10; 6:3-8). These are deadly plagues of which every saint of God should be aware, and prepared for. They are the agents of hell against humanity and the destiny of all overcomers. The Lord Jesus Christ promises to keep or preserve His own throughout the period of these woes. The advent of evil spirits through oppression, possession, invasion, and war is bound to cause misbehaviours in men through multiplied sin. This will cause famine through God’s judgements, closed heavens, and will affect agriculture and food produce. Shortage of food will lead to diseases and deaths.
However, the believers must stand against all these, lest they are hurt and caused to fall! They must use their God-given authority to: 1. Put an end to wars, even as today commemorates World War 1 Day, and all blood-letting; 2. End famine and create surplus, instead; 3. Cast out the spirit of death, and establish life through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; and 4. Rebuke and cast out evil spirits that are behind all these plagues and afflictions. Let God use you to accomplish His purpose.
PRAYER POINT:
1. Thank God for Your victory over all the powers of the enemy.
2. Declaration: I use my God-given authority over the spirits of War, Famine, Death and Hell. I render them powerless, in the name of Jesus!
3. Pray for CAC Sunday School Department, the Director of Sunday School and all the staff as the spirit leads.
