TOPIC: HATED WITHOUT A CAUSE
READ: John 15:20-25
[20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
[21] But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
[22] If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
[23] He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
[24] If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
[25] But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
MEMORISE:
Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him. We shall see what will become of his dreams! (Genesis 37:20)
EXPOSITION
Joseph was hated with passion, not because of what he did wrong, but because he believed in the future he saw about himself. Why did the world today hate believers in Christ Jesus? Hear the Lord, as He gives answers in His own Word: (1) Because Christians are not of the world; (2) He has chosen them out of the world; (3) because of His name; (4) the world don’t know God who sent the Christ; (5) the world hates Jesus Christ and His Father (God); (6) Christians are servants who are not greater than their Master, Jesus Christ; and (7) that the Scripture might be fulfilled, that You (believers) are hated without a cause, meaning, without a justifiable reason. Take the time to read John 15:19-23,25.
Beloved, are you being hated today, without a cause, like Joseph? Then, know that the hatred is all about Jesus Christ living in you. He is the reason you are going through all the spiritual attacks and challenges, because of a non-compromising Christian life. All the lies and negative happenings which are not understandable, and the confusions about why people would do evil to you even after you have been so supportive to them, are signs of deep hatred for our Lord Jesus Christ and God, the Father, whom you have trusted and chosen to believe.
Do not give up on God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ got you covered, and surely will deliver you through His holy name. Let not the world daunt or stop you from your divine commitment. Are you truly converted? Then, allow the Holy Spirit’s dwelling in you to always bear the witness of Jesus, in and through you, against this evil world.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. I declare today that I shall not go back from serving the Lord faithfully no matter what the world may do against me because of Christ.
2. I receive grace to love and pray for my haters.
3. Pray for CAC Sunday School Department, the Director of Sunday School and all the staff as the spirit leads.
