Have Faith in God

Read Mark 11:12-22
12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
19 And when even was come, he went out of the city.
20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

MEMORIZE: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1).

EXPOSITION
Have Faith in God is what our Lord Jesus told His disciples who were wondering how a tree could dry up at His Words. Jesus didn’t hesitate to show them the secret–faith in God; not in self, abilities, connections, etc. Faith is made up of belief and trust. You can believe your uncle, but you should be able to trust your father when he makes promises. This is based on relationship. Many people believe God, but seldom trust Him. Faith is not the denial of the reality of a difficult situation, but the assurance of overcoming such situation by total committal to God through hope.
Why do you need to put your faith in God? Who is this God that you should have faith in Him? Check His profile. He is the Creator of everything (Gen.1v1, Psa.24v1), and is all powerful: He made you, He has the power to break you, and if you are broken, He can mend you. He owns you; He owns all you have and all you desire having. You can actually get fulfilment only by His power. God is all-knowing. He knows all about you. What the entire world is passing through is not detached from His knowledge (cf.Am.3v6).
Why then do you keep worrying? Instead, God expects you to pray about everything (Phil.4v6-7), all times (2 Thess.5v17), because Jesus tells us that whenever we pray, we should have faith in God that we receive it (Mark 11v24). Step up your faith in Him today!
