NO OTHER NAME

Date: Saturday, August 20, 2022

Bible Text: Acts 4:8-12

Memory Verse: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12, NIV

You feel great and be proud of your family name if it grants you access to the most important place on earth. Several people lived and made their names great and influential to the point that several privileges are accrued to generations after them.

After healing a lame man at the entrance of the temple in Jerusalem (Acts 3:6-8), Peter and John were arrested. The Sanhedrin expected them to make known by what power or name they healed the lame man (Acts 4:7). Peter used the opportunity to inform them about the greatness of the name of Jesus, whom the religious leaders of Israel oversaw his crucifixion (Acts 4:10). Even though they rejected the Christ, He had become the chief cornerstone that cannot be ignored by any man who would be saved from sin and the troubles of the world (Acts 4:12).

The name of Jesus is the greatest of all names. It reconnects sinners back to God and pave way to access healing and wholeness for those who need it. No other name! Accept Him as your LORD and Saviour.

Insight: The name of Jesus is the most potent of all names.

Prayer: LORD, let your name make way for me as I go out today.

RBT Passage: Jeremiah 50
