SHINE YOUR LIGHT

Bible Text: Matthew 5:14-16
Memory Verse: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16, NIV
I have difficulties navigating my way in the dark. Hence, I always move around in the night with a flashlight. While in the University, I forgot my flashlight on a particular day while going to night class. I was almost entering a drainage ahead of me before a passer-by flashed his light which saved me from an impending injury. This is a replica of what Christians are supposed to be.
There is spiritual darkness everywhere around, making it difficult for people to walk without falling. God has made Christians the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). Light should not be hidden, but allowed to shine so that people can see clearly from the ray of light. Hence, it should be positioned before men that they may see your good works and glorify God in Heaven (Matthew 5:16). As a believer in Christ, cultivating good behaviours is important because it attract others to the light that shines in us, bringing glory to God.
Allow your life to be an attraction to people, especially the unbelievers. Determine to live a life that is above reproach as you interact with them. As you do so, God will glorify Himself.
Insight: Jesus is the light that shines in the believer. Allow Him to rule your life.
Prayer: Lord, may darkness not overshadow my light.
