BEAR SPIRITUAL FRUIT

Bible Text: Galatians 5:22-26
Memory Verse: “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” John 15:2, NIV
Farmers are always disappointed with fruit-producing trees that fail to produce fruits in their seasons. A farmer can decide to cut down such a tree when it persistently fails to bear fruits. He does that because the tree has failed in one of the major essence of its existence.
God is fruitful and he expects believers to be fruitful. The fruit of the Spirit, as borne by a saved individual, are character traits that show that a change has genuinely occurred in the heart of the believer. He is, therefore, expected to be loving (to both the saved and unsaved), joyful, peaceful, patient, kind (even to the difficult people), good, faithful, gentle, and have control over self (Galatians 5:20-22). A life that bears these fruits resembles Christ.
What are possible lifestyles that could hinder your fruitfulness as a believer? Take time to identify these lifestyles. That will make it possible to ensure that they are dealt with accordingly and you will begin to bear fruit that will please the Master. God has interest in lives that bear fruit and He rewards them greatly.
Insight: The fruitfulness of a believer gladdens the heart of God.
Prayer: Jesus, open my eyes to everything that hinders my fruitfulness.
