THEY ARE ASHAMED
READ LUKE 13v10-17
10 NIV:On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,
11 NIV:and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all.
12 NIV:When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.”
13 NIV:Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14 NIV:Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
15 NIV:The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water?
16 NIV:Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
17 NIV:When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.

Exposition
It is hard to believe that there are people who want the plight of the woman in our devotional text today to continue without solution, because it was obvious that some people opposed the healing done on her by the great Healer, Jesus Christ. You might discover to your worst chagrin that not everyone desires your wellness and goodness.
They are many out there who don’t see anything good in others; they love to see others in pain, shame, sorrow and anguish-sadists. They are happy when others are failing, and laughing them to scorn when things are not working well for them. If that describes you, better ask God to change you today, and ask for forgiveness for your past wickedness. All your enemies, accusers and those who want you to fail and fall will be put to shame, in Jesus name (Psa.27v2). Why would people prefer that woman to remain bent over for life, having suffered for about eighteen years?
The end of your agony, sorrow and pains, in Jesus name. God is intervening on your behalf. Just make sure you align with Him. He will put those who choose to be your enemy for any reason to shame, as He totally sets you free (Isa. 49v26). The devil thought that Jesus wouldn’t resurrect, but He was absolutely ashamed when the Son of God came out if the grave on the third day and ascended to the right hand of the Father in Heaven.
If you have accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, right now, you are seated with Him in the heavenlies, above all principalities and Powers. The joy is that He has put the devil (the Lord of all evil/wickedness, imagined and unimaginable) under your feet (Rom.16v20). Just crush him! Do you now see why the devil and his cohorts who have chosen to be your enemies (and indeed God’s) would be continually put to shame? Relax! God is fighting your battles.

Prayer points
1. Lord, never let the wicked triumph over me.
2. Lord, deliever me from all infirmities, affliction, suppression, oppression and gaslighting by the enemy.
3. Lord, re-establish Yourself in our churches as You relegate Satan and render his agents powerless/toothless in the churches.
