GLORIFY GOD WITH YOUR LIFE

Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 6:12-20
Memory Verse: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, NIV
A young handsome man decided to use his God-given body to enjoy the world. He shared his vision with his grandmother, who happened to know the Scriptures. She said to him, ‘glorify God with your body. That was why He (God) gave you a good physique.’
God made everything beautiful to behold. This includes humankind. However, being physically handsome or beautiful does not grant us the freedom to abuse our body in any form. God does not want us to be mastered by anything (vs. 12). One of such masters is yielding our bodies to sexual activities outside marriage which is sinful. God owns us because He bought us through the blood of Jesus Christ (vs. 19-20a). He desires we use our bodies for His glory.
Can you take time to reflect on things that you do, which are dishonor to God? Turn a new leaf today and live for His glory alone. You should also speak with someone who is using his or her body wrongly. God will be proud of you if you do so.
Insight: God has every authority over my body. Hence, it should bring glory to Him.
Prayer: LORD, I am sorry for every abuse to which I have subjected Your temple (my body).
