TRUST IN THE LORD
Date: Friday, October 21, 2022
Bible Text: Psalm 20:1-9
Memory Verse: Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7, NIV
A child was standing at the balcony of a storey building and on sighting his father at the ground floor, told his father to carry him as he jumped down. The father had no choice but to station himself and catch the innocent boy. Though the boy eventually got hurt but the Father bore the brunt more. That is trust!
This Psalm is a prayer for protection, blessings and acceptance of different sacrifices and granting of various requests. Some people have put their trust in many things like chariots and horses (weapons of war), power of darkness, their influences, family background or name (all these are the arm of flesh that will fail). Those who were victims of depending on the arm of flesh have ugly tales to tell. The name of the LORD is a strong tower and only the righteous run into it and are safe. The righteous shall be like mount Zion, which can never be moved.
You can change camp today, if your trust is not yet in the LORD, and come over to Zion and the LORD will do you good.
Insight: Trust in the ability of God who cannot fail.
Prayer: O LORD, in you I trust; let there be divine attention on my petitions in Jesus’ name.
RBT Passage: Luke 1-2
