TOPIC: THE AWESOME GOD
ANCHORED SCRIPTURES: PSALM 145:3

The MESSAGE:
This morning, I want you to listen very carefully. What do we mean by “Awesome”? By “awesome”, we mean:
- Amazing.
- Breathtaking.
- Something formidable and fearful.
- Something impressive and magnificent.
- Something mind blowing.
- Something completely overwhelming.
- Something stunning and wonderful.
- Fascinating and incredible.
- Marvellous.
- Unbelievable.
- Astonishing.
- Extraordinary.
- Powerful.
- Overpowering.
Our God is awesome. He does awesome things. His name is awesome. His presence too is awesome. It was that awesome presence that Jacob saw and uttered the statement on the altar that says “Surely, the Lord is in this place”.
I know there is somebody here this morning: your miracle will give birth to other miracles, because you will encounter the awesome God, and He will do awesome things in your life, in the name of Jesus.asaaad
You see beloveth, the blunt truth which is hard to say, is that our problems are not our problems; they are due to our ignorance about the limitless, boundless and awesomeness of the ability of our God.
Our problems are not our problems, they are just ignorance:
- About the awesomeness of the power of our God.
- Of the secrets of God.
- Of the mysteries of God.
- Of the covenant agenda of God with His children.
- About the limitless possibilities of our God.
All forms of poverty and wretchedness happen because of ignorance of the limitless wealth that God can put in your life. Therefore beloveth, understanding the mysteries of God, understanding the awesomeness and limitless capacity of God is the master key to commanding victory in every battle we fight. When Haman began to attack Mordecai and the people of Israel, and his fortune began to go down before the King, as he got home that day and told his wife that there is problem, she said something.
She said “if it is before Mordecai of the Jews you have started to fall, then get ready for total defeat.” No man can defeat you when you have plugged your life into the awesomeness of the power of God.
Say: No man can defeat me, because I belong to the seed of the Almighty! (Confess it to seven persons).
Therefore, the greatest prison house is our ignorance. When you key into the awesomeness of the power of God, great unbelievable things begin to happen in your life. We as Christians do not measure our enemies by their numbers; we measure them by the power of our God. Somebody has said “it does not matter to the fox how many sheep are available, for only one fox can scatter a thousand sheep”. Unfortunately, it is sad but it is true that in most cases, believers are living below standard.
Believers are called to become prophets but they have become parrots. Believers are called to become shakers and movers of the world but majority of Christians are actually crawling through life, and it is always a tragedy when someone is complaining about being broke and poor when God is calling him a human gold mine. Most people who are supposed to fly are not even walking yet; they are crawling.
In many situations beloveth, the servants have taken over the horses, and many princes are now trekking. Somebody trekking is making progress, but the progress is not the best progress.
That is why I know there is somebody here this morning, the servants who have captured your horse of destiny shall release the horse, and you shall begin to fly, in the name of Jesus.
What a blessing it is to key into the power of God. What a blessing it is when you become undefeatable. God is an awesome God. He does awesome things. His Name is awesome. His presence is awesome. He can do awesome things in your life and when He is displaying His awesome power, men will look at you and open their mouths in wonder and say “how did this happen? What happened to you?” That is why they call Him Wonderful, meaning “full of wonders”.
God is a Spirit. He is the Holy One of Israel. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the God of visions, angelic dreams and prophets utterances.
Shout this loud and clear: I shall not die but live, to declare the works of God!
When a man has encountered the awesome God, you are wasting your time confronting him. When a man has visited the presence of the awesome God, to be quite honest with you, it is not pride, but you have no business confronting him. Our God broke the long legs of Jacob, then he buried Korah, Dathan and Abiram alive.
And I know that plenty of God’s enemies shall be buried alive this morning, in the name of Jesus.
Our God poured fire on the altar of Elijah. He is the God that sends fire to fight for His people. The same God put leprosy on the skin of Miriam and when Jeroboam was pointing a finger at the prophet of God, it is the awesome God that withered his hand.
Any magician or native doctor pointing at you, your children, your business, the hand shall wither, in the name of Jesus!
It is the same God who turned Nebuchadnezzar a king to a lunatic. He said “well, since you do not want to respect me, I will disgrace you”. And God disgraced him. All of a sudden, he jumped down from his throne on all fours. He went to the first flower vase in the flowers and began to eat the grass. All his subjects were stupefied. The awesome God converted him to animal. Our God made a baby in a ninety year old woman, and He turned the Nile river to blood. It was the awesome God that sank Jericho’s walls and it is our God that took Elijah to heaven by a special airline.
It is our God that walked the three men through the fiery furnace and converted the fire to air conditioner. It is our God that replaced the eyes of the man born blind. He is the same God that programmed the tongue of the dumb to begin to speak. Our God put His spirit upon Noah and Noah was able to know that a flood was coming. It was God’s Spirit that put the dreams that made Joseph great into his spirit. It was the awesome God that spoke fire into that bush that Moses was seeing in the wilderness.
It is the same God that visited Egypt ten times and by the final run, Pharaoh allowed His people to go. It was God’s angels that sat Joshua down and gave him battle plans. It is the Spirit of the awesome God that showed Samuel all the sins of Eli and his sons. It was his Spirit that filled the temple of Solomon with shekinah glory. It was His angels that guided Zechariah, Elizabeth, Mary and Joseph. It was His Spirit that led those wise men. It was the awesome God that took John the Baptist and made him a prophet that nobody else was like.
It was His power that unlocked Peter from prison and said “go ahead and preach!”. There is no power, no force, no spirit, no personality of any dimension that can equal or compete with the awesomeness of the power of our God. And that is what I want you to put into your spirit this morning as we are going into some prayers to draw from the awesomeness of that power.
Somebody will get home here today, and find that the awesome God has visited you, in the name of Jesus.
PRAYER POINTS
(Pray these on your head).
- Evil hands anointed to waste my head, catch fire! in the name of Jesus.
- Every arrow of untimely death fired into my brain, backfire! in the name of Jesus.
- My head, my head, my head, hear the Word of the Lord; arise, shine! in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Every power summoning my head from the gate of death, die! in the name of Jesus.
- Every coven assigned against my head, scatter, in the name of Jesus.
- Hands of the strongman upon my head, dry up! in the name of Jesus.
- O heavens, declare the glory of God upon my head, in the name of Jesus! (A sevenfold Amen).
- Where is the Lord God of Elijah? Arise, and let my problems die, in the name of Jesus.
- My killers, kill yourselves right now, in the name of Jesus.
- Awesome God, manifest your power in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Awesome God, advertise your power in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- I prophesy over my life, that it shall be well with me, in the name of Jesus.
- Powers assigned to use my head for experiment, use your own head and die, in the name of Jesus.
