NO Foreign Land

Read: Jonah 1:1-3
[1]Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
[2]Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
[3]But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

MEMORISE: The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. (Psalm 24:1).

EXPOSITION
To God, there is no foreign land, as there are no refugees with Him, except those who have chosen to make themselves foreigners to God, even on this World Refugee Day. It is only the noncitizen of a country that can refer to the country as being a foreign land. God created, manages and monitors events in every land. He who creates the eyes can’t be blind, just as the creator of the land can’t be a stranger in it. He created all lands; He owns them all. The only foreign land is that land where the inhabitants choose not to allow His rulership, and that is why He has provided for how to reclaim such, through evangelism. We contribute to making lands foreign today, as far as God is concerned, i.e. aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world (Eph. 2:12), we refused to take Him (Gospel) to them. Though all lands belong to God, yet the devil, the father of lies (Jn. 8:44), wrongly claims ownership of it, thinking man had sold it to him in Eden, when man fell (Matt. 4:8, 9). Satan is terribly foolish! If God owns everything (Psalm 24:1), not man, could man have sold what he doesn’t own to the devil? Let us in our numbers go all out and do the reclaiming of these lands through Christ’s avowed backing (Matt. 28:20).

No land is foreign to the Gospel ; we are sent into the works to preach the gospel to every creature (Mk. 16:15) the Great Commission we must yield to. The imminent end might not come because several precious souls in some lands still await the gospel; they need the Messiah. The harvest are ripe. Where are the Labourers (cf. Jon. 4:11)? To Jonah, Nineveh was a foreign land where he had nothing at stake, but to God, it wasn’t. They were His creation and possession, like the Jews (Psa. 22:28). All are precious to Him.

PRAYER POINTS :
1. Appreciate God who created all things, owns all land, including the one you occupy, and controls the affairs of man.
2. Pray that God will give you passion for the lost souls, to locate them with Christ’s Gospel.
3. Pray that all our local assemblies will committedly raise functional evangelical teams to champion the course of evangelism in those assemblies.
