CHRIST IS THE HOPE OF GLORY

Read: Colossians 1:24-26

Colossians 1-24-29 [Even] now I rejoice in the midst of my sufferings on your behalf. And in my own person I am making up whatever is still lacking and remains to be completed [on our part] of Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of His body, which is the church.

In it I became a minister in accordance with the divine stewardship which was entrusted to me for you [as its object and for your benefit], to make the Word of God fully known [among you]—

The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations [from angels and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints),

To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.

Him we preach and proclaim, warning and admonishing everyone and instructing everyone in all wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God), that we may present every person mature (full-grown, fully initiated, complete, and perfect) in Christ (the Anointed One).

For this I labor [unto weariness], striving with all the [aa]superhuman energy which He so mightily enkindles and works within me.

MEMORISE

To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory. (Colossians 1:27).

EXPOSITION

That  Christ is the hope of our glory means that, He is the One, to whom we can look up to, to bring us success, or relief. Christ is the source of our hope in God. He is the basis of our faith. He is the seal of the assurance that God is with us, in us and for us. He is the reason for our living and existence. He is the One who makes us what we are. He is the source of our joy, and the Lifter of our head. In fact, He is our everything.

When we remember what it cost God to restore the initial closeness we had with Him in Adam, and in the Garden of Eden, the right-thinking cannot but appreciate what God did through Christ on Calvary. Anyone who has accepted the perfect work of redemption through, and in the Lord Jesus Christ is well assured that he/she is on the right track. The reason we can trust God so much is that, He did not even spare His son but gave Him to die for us, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Someone who paid the maximum price to save us and gave us a rich hope of better life  here and now bliss in the hereafter, is One to be  trusted. Therefore, if He has promised you anything, consider it is done. Christ is our hope and assurance that we shall make it, be healthy, prosper, and succeed in the true sense of it. He became poor, so that we might be rich, and by His stripes, we are healed. He is seated at the right hand of God making intercession for us always.

Are you  rejected, frustrated, depressed or sorrowful, remember that Christ is our hope, and that He would fulfil all His promises and programme for your life. Be encouraged!

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord Jesus, I strongly believe You are my only hope in all situations. Help me never to abandon this worthwhile for any reasons.

2. In Jesus name, I see a great and glorious future for me, my family and vocation, regardless of my present situation. I will fulfil  my God-given destiny.

3. We see a great and glorious future for the Church in this land. Nothing can stop, or muzzle the Gospel. Every conspiracy against her shall not see the light of the  day, in Jesus name.
