HIGHER EVERYDAY
TUESDAY JANUARY 12, 2021
TOPIC: FACTS ABOUT WORRY AND FAITH
BIBLE TEXT: Philippians 4:4-7
MEMORY VERSE: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6).
According to William Ward, “Worry is faith in the negative, trust in the unpleasant, assurance of disaster and belief in defeat. Worry is a magnet that attracts negative conditions. Faith is a more powerful force that creates positive circumstances.” While you worry your problems remain unsolved. However, when you rise up with faith in God you overcome your problems. Child of God, do you worry unnecessarily? When you worry, you cannot think straight, and you do wrong things. It makes you tired without achieving anything. But faith in God makes you work diligently and achieve set goals.
Faith is needed to go through life victoriously. In your studies, secular work or church ministry, faith is the watchword. Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Daniel, Deborah, Apostle Paul and many others, used it to overcome their enemies. Rather than stay inactive through worry, step out in faith and conquer your world. Faith comes by receiving Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and hearing the Word of God. Where there is faith, worry flees. David alone by faith conquered Goliath: in Christ, you can do better.
CHALLENGE: Worry turns challenges into big problems.
QUOTE: Where there is faith, worry flees
PRAYER: Rather than worry, Oh God, let me have faith in you!
