NOT IMMUNED TO TRIAL.

Read James 1:2-12.

MEMORISE: My brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience (James 1:2,3).

EXPOSITION

Jacob lives right in Laban’s house, yet he was faced with problems. Your faith in Christ is not immunity to trial. Your love for Christ and all He represents is not immunity to trial. Your good deeds, passion for what is right, etc., will not shield you from trial because trial is a test to ascertain your trust and dependence on Him. Trial is just a weapon used by God. Therefore, we must not be ignorant of this. David requested of God to try him. Trial is a way to authenticate our levels in God. He indeed tries believers with trials, he used storms of life for men of old and He still uses it on His today.

Someone says, ‘War makes generals’.

To be a giant and general in Christ, we must be tried tested and be trusted. We can’t afford running away from trial absolutely, but we must take it with joy. He loves us and  promises never (not) to try us beyond our ability.

Therefore, as you grow in Him, expect harder and tougher trials. His sure promise is that He is with you; I mean you are not alone in trial. The trial you are currently battling with will not consume or deform you. You are coming out more glorious, powerful, beautiful and better (Jn. 8:28, 29; Jn. 16:33).

Trial is to give you the experience of Joseph in Potiphar’s house, Jacob in Laban’s house, Daniel in Babylon and host of others in the Scriptures. It s one of the things your generation will remember you for. Before gold shines, it passes through the furnace. Whoever is going to be great must be faced with difficult situations allowed and supervised by the Lord God. Glorious day comes after the darkest night of trial. You will soon experience that.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, help me not to deny my faith in You, even in the face of hard and tough trial.

2. Father, uphold as many that are passing through difficult times, be their sustainer and grant them victory at the end.

3. Pray for the ministers of the gospel that God will grant them the sufficient grace to withstand every storm that may rage against them and the work of the ministry.
