THE MAN JESUS
Read: John 12:17-19
John 12:17-19 The group that had been with Jesus when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from among the dead kept telling it [bearing witness] to others.
It was for this reason that the crowd went out to meet Him, because they had heard that He had performed this sign (proof, miracle).
Then the Pharisees said among themselves, You see how futile your efforts are and how you accomplish nothing. See! The whole world is running after Him!
MEMORISE:
So Jesus came out wearing the thorny crown and purple cloak, and Pilate said to them, See, [here is] the Man! (John 19:5)
EXPOSITION
Thank God for the life lived by Nelson Mandela, the man, whom God used to fight racial apartheid to a stop and won freedom for his people. Yet, he was no match for Jesus, because no one on earth, dead or alive, is a match to the man, Jesus. No one was ever born like Him (Lk.1v35). No one on earth has the full knowledge of himself like He had (jn.8v23). No one spoke about God as his Father unequivocally like Him (jn.8v28-29). No one was ever avowed as the only true Son of God like Him (jn.1v34,49,6v69,20v31). No one ever taught like Him (Mk.1v22). No one ever led and moved the world to God like He did (jn.12v19). No one other than Him lives and died sacrificial for the redemption of souls (Mk.28v6-7). This man Jesus is the incomparable Christ, the only Saviour of the world.
Reading books about Jesus Christ of Nazareth is good, praying to God in His name in wonderful, but receiving Him into your heart and allowing Him to take charge of your life completely is the essence of God becoming the man Jesus. Have you accepted Him into your life? If yes, do you abide in Him?
He wore the crown of thorns that you may put on the crown of glory. He paid off the debt of sin of humanity (jn.19v30,2 Cor.5v21), your inclusive. And there is no more penalty of sin to those who accept Him as their complete propitiation. He is the proof of God’s personality, promise and power to those who abide in Him (Gal.2v20,Lk.10v19).
The man Jesus is all you need for your salvation, comfort, deliverance and freedom from all shackles of the arch-enemy of man’s souls, the Devil. He is all you need to be saved today, and remain eternally saved (1 jn.5v13). Your completeness is in Him (Col.2v9,10).
PRAYER POINTS:
1. I confess this day, that I have eternal life of God in me by the man Jesus; I am no more under condemnation of eternal doom, in Jesus name.
2. Holy Spirit, help me to see Jesus in the right light, and help me to make this perspective the integral part of my daily living.
3. Lord, show in this nation, most especially, to the enemies of the Gospel, that You are beyond an ordinary man, and Your power is matchless.
