  1. Lack of submission: As a woman, understand scriptural truths on submission in marriage. According to 1 Tim. 2:11 (NASB), entire or total submission, not partial submission is what is required in a marriage. Total submission is the place of honour from God for a woman. The inability of a woman to submit makes her jump ahead of her husband. That was the failure of Eve in the garden; she could not wait for Adam before she took the decision (1 Timothy 2:14). Some women try to manipulate their husbands with fake submission. Don’t engage in it because it can lead to severe consequences.

Deviation from entire submissiveness will bring dishonour and shame to a woman. If a wife disobeys the husband at home, she is going to meet shame somewhere in the world. Many times, we blame the devil for the attacks that some women experience during childbirth, but it is not so. Consider 1 Timothy 2:15, lack of submission can open a woman to attacks during childbearing.

There cannot be joining if the man is not in headship and the woman is not in submission. Don’t operate a home that is built on partnership and business arrangement. It will be filled with struggles that are triggered by dividing things. The traditional or cultural way of running a home may support partnership and compromise. However, biblical truths give an understanding of headship and submission, which will make the foundation of your union stronger. Joining brings strength, and when God joins two people together, He joins the head to submission and then you have unity, not union.

PRAYER: Lord, I submit to this biblical truth to be correctly joined to my spouse, and to build unity and strength in my marriage.
