THE BLOOD OF JESUS
Read: Romans 3:24-25
Romans 3:24-25 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
MEMORISE:
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death (Revelation 12:11)
EXPOSITION
Blood is the body fluid in human and other animals that delivers necessary substances, such as nutrients and oxygen to the cells, and transport metabolic waste products away from those cells. Blood is very important for human survival. In the sacrifices involving blood in the Old Testament, the blood symbolically represented life. It is the life of the victim that is the source of the atonement, which, of course, brings the hope of the sinner’s union with a holy God (Lev. 17:11).
The Blood, that is, Blood of Christ, refers to the physical blood actually shed by Jesus Christ, primarily on the Cross to perfect our redemption and salvation. The blood of Jesus represents the suffering and death Jesus endured as a sacrifice for our sins (1 Cor. 10:16). It is the sacrifice of Jesus that guarantees access to God and a relationship with Him (Eph. 2:12). The blood of Jesus purifies our conscience from dead works to serve the living God (Heb. 9:13-14). The blood of Christ serves as a ransom, or payment for our sins, allowing salvation by faith in Jesus (1 Pet. 1:18-19), brings peaceful (Eph. 2:13; Col. 1:20).
In the Old Testament, the Israelites were asked to place the blood of the animal they killed for the Passover on the lintel as this served as a sign, so that when the angel of death passed over their home, the inhabitants of the homes were saved. In the same vein, Christ has been made our sacrificial Lamb and His Blood is potent till today. Access it by faith and you are saved from death and all evils.
You only need to access the blood and the blood will save you from death, disease, and will make you an overcomer of all sorts of evil plots against you. There is great power in the blood of Jesus Christ. So, regularly plead the blood on yourself and all that is yours.
PRAYER POINTS
1. I plead the blood of Jesus to purify me of all my filthiness and make me acceptable unto God.
2. I overcome Satan, sin, world, flesh, diseases, failure, torment by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ.
3. Plead the unfailing blood of Jesus upon Christian soldiers on battlefield to protect them and save their lives.
