February 16, 2021 Spirit Meat Devotional : Topic – DEALING WITH FEAR IN YOUR HEART (3) – CAST IT DOWN – 2 Corinthians 10:5

This scripture tells us three major things the devil uses to attack people and give fear a root in their lives:
1.Imaginations
2.High reasoning
3.Thoughts
That means when you are getting the knowledge of the truth from the word of God, some things will want to exalt themselves against that knowledge of the truth.
The Bible tells us what we need to do with them, “Casting down imaginations.” Imagination was what affected Elijah when he heard the death threats of Jezebel; his imagination controlled him and he began to run.
When any negative information comes your way, the bible says cast it down! How? By using the name of Jesus and truth in the word of God. Fear is a spirit that wants to make nonsense of your life, your Christianity and your future. You must cast down every imagination of fear, cast down every high thing that is exalting itself against the knowledge of God and bring into captivity every thought to obey Christ.
What does it mean to bring every thought into captivity to obey Christ? That means you take every negative, wayward and rebellious thought captive by the truth of the Word of God. “Christ” also stands for “the Anointed One” and the Word of God is anointed. When you use the Word of God to capture every negative thought in your life, you will come into a place of rest.
PRAYER: I subject my thoughts and imaginations to the word of God. I disallow and cast down any thought that contradicts God’s Word in my mind. Amen.
