A FUTURE AND A HOME (1).

Read Jeremiah 29:4-12.

MEMORISE: How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them (Psalms 139:17).

EXPOSITION

Every father who is good and godly always has good intention and good plan for their children. They usually want them to become what God says they would become. They help in discovering the purpose of God to their children and usually endeavour to chart the course of their children towards having a good and glorious future.

If earthly father can be this concerned, God who is our heavenly father is much more. His intention is nothing short of the best. He confirmed this in Jeremiah to His people when they were in captivity: For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and  a hope (29:11). A future….  refers to the tomorrow that is expected to be better than today and now. Sorrow may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5)

The direct recipients of Jeremiah’s message were, at that time, in Babylonian captivity without hope of freedom. Yet God was assuring them of His plan for better tomorrow. Is there anything He cannot do? He knows what He wants and when He wants it and how to get it. He is unstoppable and His ways pass finding out. He controls everything including the time, your life and all circumstances around you. When He promises future He means glorious and best future.

Do you know that future eventually came for the Lord’s people. They gained their freedom and reclaimed their lands back. Their enemies were eventually toppled. That shall be your own testimony in Jesus’name. If God could fulfil His  plan in the life of Joseph and saw him to the throne in a foreign land He can do much more for you.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord I know I will make it because You can never fail me.

2. Let Your good purpose materialize in my life O Lord.

3. Whatever I may be passing through would not make me shift my focus from You Lord, because I know you can make me overcome.
