LIVE AS SALT AND LIGHT

Date: Monday, April 25, 2022

Bible Text: Matthew 5:13-16

Memory Verse: “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:13-14, NIV

Salt and light are two physical phenomena in life which we cannot do without in daily life. Salt is a substance that carries power, it brings out taste in food; it enhances food flavour. Light is a force that reveals things, it removes darkness and exposes the essence of things. Light guides and leads in the right path.

The LORD Jesus uses direct comparison when He faced His disciples and said you’re salt of the earth and light of the world. This implies that Christians have great value in this world. By this comparison, the LORD reveals that the roles of Christians in the world include transforming the society from bad to good, preserving the society from moral decay, showing forth the right way the society ought to go and manifesting God’s glory in human society.

In your school, in your neighborhood, are you salt and light? The world needs faithful believers urgently without whom the world will sink into eternal destruction. If you are not salt and light, you’re not a true Christian. Arise as true Christians and disciples of Christ and let Christ’s light through you shine to the world and brighten the path of others as you continue to live in Him and teach the gospel to others.

Insight: Brace up in the Christian journey, you have a great value in God’s sight in this world.

Prayer: Almighty Father, give me fresh anointing to win more souls for your kingdom in Jesus name!
