ACTS OF THE MESSIAH

Bible Text: Isaiah 11:1-5

RBT Passage: Judges 14-16

“but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked” – Isaiah 11:4, NIV

During election period, political activities are usually tense. The politicians eagerly run around to give mouth-watering promises in order to secure as many votes as possible towards victory. The electorates are also full of expectations; they look forward to new leaders who will do things towards improving their living conditions. The greatest wish of the electorates is, any politician who wins should serve them well.

Under prophetic unction, Isaiah was responding to a certain impending event in Judah when he suddenly turned to the future, talking about the Messiah who was to come. The prophet brought a strong hope to the people when he said that a branch will come out of the stump of Jesse. Then he went on to describe His attributes and His actions. The Messiah will be full of the Spirit of the LORD. This implies that His power will not be political but divine. The Messiah will do the impossible: He will satisfy the needy, He will raise the poor and He will judge the wicked. That is beyond what any politician of this world can do.

This Messiah is the same today, changing the lot of those who trust in Him.

Insight: “Christ is our faithful shepherd. Put your trust in Him” – Charles Colson.

Prayer: I receive and possess Your acts of righteousness in my life O God.

WEDNESDAY 18TH MARCH 2020

Pray With This: WHO is there like you, O God, You created us in your likeness, Who is there like you, O God. LORD, You have no delight in destroying what You have created. It’s an honour LORD to stand and worship you. We lift our hands to the great I am, Who was and who is to come. We lift our hands to the great I am for, Who can compare with you?

Prayer Focus for Today: The eyes of the Father run to and fro. He’s searching the earth, He’s looking for those who make intercession on behalf of their nation. Those who will rise up and pray.
Heavenly Father, we stand in the gap on behalf of our land, we are down on our knees Father, we take our stand and we intercede for our land. Please LORD, let the evil hand of the calamity stop, we plead for mercy, we plead for succour, we plead for peace and we plead for divine healing of our lands, the airwaves, the seas and the environment. Please protect us and protect all the nations in the name of Jesus Christ.
