CRY FOR MORE THAN CRUMBS

TEXT: MATTHEW 15:22-29

MEMORY VERSE: “And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table” (MATTHEW 15:27).

A story was told of a man who approached a monarch for financial assistance, he was told to write any amount he wanted, and take it to the bank on behalf of the monarch. Getting to the bank he presented his cheque and the bank informed the monarch about the amount that the poor man wrote was so much. However, the bank was ordered to pay him, since the man believed the benefactor could pay it. The question is, how big is your God? Do you believe He is rich enough to meet all your spiritual, academic and financial needs? Why then are you asking for crumbs when as a child of God you deserve daily bread from your heavenly Father?

Ignorance makes man to limit the ability of God. What you get from God is determined by the level of your faith. How big is your faith? Our God is Jehovah Jireh (our provider and all sufficient One). The Bible says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

QUOTE: Our God is Jehovah Jireh.

CHALLENGE: Sustained daily bread is meant for children.

PRAYER: Lord, increase my faith to believe you for all things.
