BEWARE OF DOGS
TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 3:1-10
MEMORY VERSE: “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision” (PHILIPPIANS 3:2).
The warning sign on the front gate reads, BEWARE OF DOGS. But the burglar had thought there was only one dog, therefore, he jumped the fence into the house while the owners were out walking their dog. CCTV cameras captured the hilarious scene that unfolded. As soon as he approached the front door, he was attacked by two angry bulldogs. He had invaded their owners’ territory and they would take him down. Moments later, the burglar managed to escape, bruised and bleeding, and without his shirt.
Today, domestic dogs are referred to as “man’s best friend”, but the scriptures generally regard them as unclean, ferocious and dangerous. One character in William Shakespeare’s play, The Merchant of Venice, says: “Thou callest me a dog before thou hast cause. But since I am a dog, beware my fangs”.
Really, character is everything. So, beloved, beware of unsaved associates you may consider best friends but who are unclean in character, angry in disposition and ferocious in nature. Love the godly, but, “Beware of dogs”.

PRAYER: Dear Father, make me wise in my associations.
