BEYOND OUTWARD BEAUTY
TEXT: PROVERBS 31:26-31
MEMORY VERSE: “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised” (PROVERBS 31:30).
Everything in nature is beautiful because each adds its role to complement the whole system. Sometimes, people judge beauty by complexion, height, size, and indecent exposure of the body; bleaching, painting, and artificial hairdos, nails, eye lashes which are disgusting to God. A woman pleaded with those who bleach the skin, “Please don’t do it… I did it and have so much regrets.”
The crazy pursuit of external beauty reflects the godlessness in our society. In the cause of trying to ‘beautify’ what God has perfected, some destroy themselves. The primary purpose of dressing is to cover one’s nakedness and not fashion.
True beauty is hidden and can only be disclosed in words, character and behaviour. It is the inward purity that provides access to God. This is the type of beauty heaven plans for all saints. It makes way for a cordial relationship with our Creator. A beautiful character is cherished by all, and happy is the youth who possesses it. He becomes a vessel unto honour. Get beautiful by genuine sanctification.

PRAYER: Lord, give me a purified heart.
