As mentioned yesterday, God uses practical things to prepare us for prophetic things and this is also the case when He is preparing Daniels for their roles. One of the tools He uses for this is assignments. Never reject assignment because it is the training ground for the future that God has for you.

Look at the father of Saul who asked his first son to be looking for lost asses. Ideally, Kish (Saul’s father) should not assign jobs like that to a firstborn. However, the day before, the Lord had spoken to Samuel that He will be sending the first king of Israel to him and this is what prompted that demand from Saul’s father. Saul could have refused to go on that errand for his father, but if he did that, he would have missed what God planned for him.

A lot of people have formed the habit of rejecting assignments from lawful authorities in their lives. The day that an assignment of destiny will show up, your habit will rule you. Some are so used to telling lies and always giving excuses, meanwhile, something great is waiting in the future. You have to begin to pray that God will give you a sense of attaching significance to insignificant but legitimate duties. That is where people develop the spirit that rules life. For example, the spirit of excellence does not come in a prayer meeting; it comes as you do every minute duty thoroughly. Don’t form the habit of transferring responsibilities, embrace divine assignment!

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I repent of any offer of the divine assignment I have rejected in the past. In Your mercy, give me another opportunity to make necessary adjustments in Jesus’ name.
