(Earth Hour)

A WORLD WITHOUT GOD.

Read Judges 2:7-15

MEMORISE: The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable works there is none who does good (Psalms 14:1).

EXPOSITION

A keen look at Psalms 14 reveals the status of our world today, where wickedness and corruption have deeply eaten into the fabrics of our society through our homes, schools, workplace, politics, and most sadly, churches. We are living in the world as if God no longer exists. The fear of God is no longer in the heart of people. Even the Church is acting like the generation after Joshua… another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Isreal (Judges 2:10).

It is glaring that even churches and so many Christians are failing God. So many have introduced standards that are not God’s. Hence today, there are more tragedies in our world like never done before. In 2020, the Corona virus pandemic swallowed up over a million souls, aside those who went to the great beyond, courtesy of earthquakes, ocean-quakes, and other forms of natural and human disasters.

Who are you in Christ? How is your world feeling the impact of your God through you? Is God’s light shining through you  (Matt. 5:16)?  Earth Hour is a  world wide event held annually, encouraging individuals, communities and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour (8:30 to 9:30pm). It was started as a lights-off evnt in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. We must not high time we returned to God, because a world without God is a world of calamities, chaos, and disasters. When the generation after Joshua chose to abandon the God of Moses and Joshua, God specifically rose against them in all fronts (Judges 2:15).  Who is he that can fight against God and withstand the firepower of His wrath? No wonder He has warned,…  the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). Let us save our world today by making God our Hallmark.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. O Lord, save my soul and have mercy on me.

2. O Lord, motivate our churches to seek Your face alright.

3. Pray that the Church in the land would become the light of the world, again, in this generation.

EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Deut. 20:13 – 23:3; Luke 2:42 – 3:11.
