LIVING WHERE SATAN’S THRONE IS.
Read Revelation 2:12-17.
MEMORISE: I Know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr; who was killed among you, where Satan dwells (Revelation 2:13).
EXPOSITION
John was addressed by Jesus, Who has the sharp two edged sword (Rev. 12:12), to rebuke and encourage the Pergamum church, to condemn the world around her, and to correct her own association with the world in one way or the other. Pergamos was a wealthy, beautiful and art-filled city, but also a wicked one; a centre for the worship of Asclepius (the Greek god of hearing), Dionysus (god of wine, ecstasy and orgasm), Athena (the legendary goddess of war, weaving, and wisdom), Zeus (the chief deity of the Greek pantheon), and other pagan gods. It was not easy being a practising Christian at Pergamos! Living in the cities of Pergamos of our own days is not easy either, with all the strange philosophies, demonic ideologies, false teachings and dangerous beliefs and practices all around. In what ways could it be said that Satan lives in your city?
Throne is a symbol of authority or rulership. Yes, Satan is the Prince of this world (Jn. 22:31; 14:30; 16:11), and he has managed to set his throne in some Christian homes and hearts. Is it ordinary that suddenly a once committed Christian became apathetic towards the things of God? Is it ordinary that a ‘sold out for Christ’ believer is now materialistic in nature and behaviou Do you have lackadaisical attitudes towards the church without a reason? What if the music you are now dancing to is coming from the throne of Satan set up in your heart? Are you sure you have not ignorantly or deliberately given the room reserved for the Spirit of the Lord in your heart to house Satan ‘s throne? What can we say of the anti-church, anti-marriage and anti-Christ spirits operatings around us? They are all signs that we live in the cities where Satan’s throne is. REPENT and RETURN to the Lord Jesus, and REMAIN the Him.
PRAYER POINT’S:
1. Give glory to the Lord for opening your eyes to see where Satan’ throne is set up around you.
2. Decree the overthrow of every satanic throne in your household and neighborhood.
3. Take authority against every spirit that sets itself up against the knowledge of God in our nation and world. After all, it is not yet time for the anti-Christ.
