THE CONFESSION THAT BRINGS GENUINE SALVATION

READ: Acts 16:25-34

MEMORISE: So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31).

EXPOSITION
This thought has become imperative in view of the fact that many lay claims to the fact that their belief systems are acceptable to God, and therefore guarantee them eternal life. Many have come to believe that by repeating a few words pronounced by a preacher, they have become saved.

Here are a few confessions from people in the Bible that should form the basis of any confession that can lead a person to salvation in Christ:
1. Confession of the Samaritans: Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we have heard Him and we know that this is indeed THE CHRIST, THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD” (Jn.4:42).

2. Confession of Peter: Also we have come to believe and know that you are THE CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD (Jn. 6:69).

3. Confession of Martha: She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are THE CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, WHO IS TO cOME INTo THE WORLD” (Jn. 11:27).

4. Confession of the Eunuch of Ethiopia: I believe that JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD (Acts 8:37b).

A summary of these confessions goes like this: “I believe that JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD AND THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD. Any confession that will lead to the salvation of one’s soul must include thiS simple but profound statement. Have you genuinely made that confession? Your eternity hinges on it. Act today.

PRAYER POINTS
1. If you have not at any time confessed yourself as a sinner and invited Jesus Christ into your heart, go ahead and do that now. God will answer your prayers, in Jesus’ name.

2. For those who are already born again, pray for the renewal and rededication of your whole spirit, soul, and body to Christ.

3. Pray for CAC Orogun Region, our father in the Lord, the Superintendent, and its officers at the various levels, as led by the Spirit of God.
