GOD WORKS BEHIND THE SCENES
READ ESTHER 6:1-6
1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.
3 And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.
4 And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king’s house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.
5 And the king’s servants said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.
6 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?
MEMORIZE: Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.
EXPOSITION
A man broke into a woman’s house one night to rob her. When the woman saw the thief in her house, she picked up her Bible and said, Acts 2v38! Seeing what she did, the robber took off, running out of the house. When the police caught up with him, they asked him why he ran away from the house. The thief said to the police, Well, you would too, if you heard a woman tell you that she had an axe and two 38s. Though this seems humorous, but that’s how amazingly powerful the Word of God is. Although God rested the 7th day from the works of creation (Gen.2v2), He hasn’t stopped working behind the scenes for humans through the redemptive works of His one and only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
The story of how Jospeh and Mordecai from a nobody position to power in Egypt and Shushan, respectively (Gen.41v41, Est.8v2), reveals that God had worked behind the scenes in the lives of the two prisoners before meeting Joseph; God worked behind the scene to have saved Mordecia from the gallows of Haman through the timely intervention of King Ahasuerus. God brought all the needed men and Pharaoh together in correlated events and places that the destiny of Jospeh may be perfectly worked out.
Wherever you are right now; in prison, in severe servitude, or in an unrecognized and condescending situation, or perhaps, you are tempted to give up on God because you are not sure of what He is doing concerning your seemingly unchanged situations, know this assuredly: God is working behind the scenes. The people you have never met can be used for the accomplishments of His purposes for you and for them as well on this day, which commemorates World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogues and Development. Your prayers will never be unanswered. Your patience and good works of faith won’t go unrewarded, just as no act of disobedience of God would be unpunished. God is indeed working behind the scenes for your good. Hallelujah!

1. O Lord, I thank You for working behind the scenes for Your purposes to be accomplished in my life.
2. Mention specific situations you desires God’s immediate and ultimate interventions.
3. Lord, we know You are working behind the scenes in the present situations of our nation and the world over. Please, manifest Your power on time to silence the bragging of the devil and his arrogant agents.
