14 KJV:Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

15 KJV:And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

(Acts 8v20

The Bible warns Christians about the love of money, which is *a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierced themselves through with many sorrows* (1 Tim.6v10). Here, Paul, the apostle admonishes Timothy, his son in the Lord, not to become a once upon a time Christian. These were backsliders or apostates, who, because of greed for what money can buy, or satisfy human ego with, failed to hold on to faith in God. Christian serve the God, who makes all things beautiful in its time (Eccl. 3v11), and He is never late. *KJV:For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.* (Hab.2v3).

The half-brothers of Joseph sold him for 20 shekels of silver (Gen. 37v28); Judas Iscariot sold his Master, Jesus, for 30 pieces of silver (Matt. 26v15); and Gehazi forfeited his own soul *to receive money and receive clothing, olive groves vineyards, sheep’s and oxen, male and female servants* (2 Kgs. 5v26-27) that he never enjoyed. The Scripture warns, *My son if sinners entice you, do not consent* (Prov.1v10). Who is whispering “what” to your ear to set you against your soul and God? How enormous is the price tag placed on your soul: *KJV:For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?* (Matt. 16v26).

Before you sign up that illicit relationship, illegal business, contract marriage, or shady deal, consider the end of Judas Iscariot and Gehazi. You can aviod becoming another Esau (Gen.25v29-34; 27:30-40, Heb.12v16,17). Your soul shouldn’t be for sale.

1. I rebuke every demonic soul snatcher whispering to me and trying to entice me away from Christ, in Jesus name.

2. Ask for grace to remain steadfast and spotless in the Lord.

3. Pray for the restoration of backslidden brethren.
