LESSON FORTY NINE (49)
TOPIC: SANCTIFICATION

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7
[3]For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
[4]That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
[5]Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
[6]That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
[7]For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

MEMORY VERSE: 2 Timothy 2:21 “If a man there fore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.'”

LESSON AIM: Understanding sanctification and its significance in the life of a Christian.

CENTRAL TRUTH:Sanctification is a necessary step every believer must take in their Christian race.

INTRODUCTION: Sanctification is the state or process of being set apart. As believers we are to set ourselves apart, purify our minds and align ourselves to God’s will. We are in this world but not of it. Sanctification involves staying away or separating ourselves from anything that will corrupt or make us unholy to be vessels for use.

1 To be used as vessels for God [2 Timothy 2:21]

DISCUSSION: Is it possible to live a holy life free from sin or it is unattainable?

LIFE APPLICATION: Every day we should make a conscious effort to live holy, separate ourselves from worldly things. It is a day-by-day activity in every area of our lives and consistency is key may God give us the grace to be consistent.

CONCLUSION: Moreover, we can see that sanctification is important for all believers because have been born again, and we cannot go back to our old lifestyle. It is a transition into a new and pure lifestyle that makes us honorable vessels for God’s use. Are you living a life separated from worldly things? If you are not, set yourselves apart today.
