TOPIC: STAND UP AFTER A SETBACK
READ: Micah 7: 8-10
[8]. Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The Lord will be a light to me.
[9]. I will bear the indignation of the Lord, Because I have sinned against Him, Until He pleads my case, And executes justice for me. He will bring me forth to the light; I will see His righteousness.
[10]. Then she who is my enemy will see, And shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will see her; Now she will be trampled down Like mud in the streets.
MEMORISE
Do not rejoice over me, my enemy, when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me (Micah 7:8).
EXPOSITION
An adage translates, “If a horse dislodges you from its back, you mount again.” Remember those times you tumbled as a toddler your little feet were seldom able to grasp the earth firmly. You never gave up, even though the fear of falling was there. Why label yourself a failure now? Rid yourself of that notion. Falling isn’t the ultimate destruction of a person; it is the act of staying down and refusing to rise that leads to true downfall. Did you know that worries can wear you down and lead to depression? And once in that state, you lose the strength to begin anew. God is eager to help you rebuild your life if you are willing to bring all the pieces to Him and get your life back on track (Psa. 18:20).
There was once an orphaned girl at a bustling bus station, trying to sell the remaining apples on her tray for the day. A customer in a moving vehicle waved her over to deliver her apples. Just a few steps into her journey, she had an abrupt collision with another passer-by, causing them both to tumble to the ground, their goods scattered. The girl promptly picked herself up, determined to continue her work before the day was over. “My apologies, sir. I should have been more careful,” she humbly replied. The man was taken aback by her honesty. He not only paid for the damages but also gave her extra money as a reward for her dedication to her job. Great joy awaits those who can admit their need for God’s help during times of recovery. Gather yourself together, and rise to a new life and light in Christ Jesus. Samson’s hair eventually grew back (Jdg. 16:22). You will rise again!

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to see Your light at the end of the tunnel of every situation in life, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, restore the fallen heroes in Your vineyards, in Jesus’name.
3. Lord Jesus, for as many that have been knocked down by sin, give them the strength to rise again.
