GIVE THANKS TO GOD ALWAYS (2)
MEMORIZE: O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!
(1 Chronicles 16:34)
READING: Psalms 96:1-13
EXPOSITION:
In 1 Chronicles 16:1-6, we saw how God bring to pass, the David’s desire, to bring the Ark of Covenant to where he prepared for it. It is a great time and true happiness . David motivated the people to make burnt offering and peace offering before God after he blessed them (v. 2). In remembrance of the event and the cooperation on part of God is important in it, he sang the songs of thanksgiving that is a part of our memory verse. He handed over to Asaph and his brethren, to give thanks to Jehovah (Psalms 96; 105:1-15; 106:1, 47, 48). David was popular in giving right praise and thanks to God. Are you a child of God? It will be evident in your act to give Him praise and thanks in what circumstances, contented or not. The Bible says, “He made all things beautiful at their appointed time (Eccl. 3:11a). Cheer up, inasmuch Job fulfilled his good years and still lived for 140 added years after his suffering (Job 42:16) and he saw his children and grandchildren till fourth generation; it has been commanded, and we proclaimed to you today that your story will not end in shame but in thanks and glory for God, in Jesus’ name (Amen).
PRAYERS:
1. Think about the important reasons for you to give thanks to God, for His worthiness wholeheartedly.
2. Lord, save me from the spirit of worries and pain that makes one not to see Your hands in state of fear.
3. Pray for the Authority of Christ Apostolic Church, the President, General Superintendent, General Evangelist, Finance Director and Director of Missions, as led by the Spirit of God.
