TOPIC: BREAKTHROUGH PRAYERS

[14]. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
[15]. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
EXPOSITION
Prayer is an essential lifestyle of the believer. Every true Christian must develop a life that is occupied by prayers. David stated it boldly, Evening and morning and at noon I will pray and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice (Psa. 55:17). This Psalm portrays a man whose life is stuck to the altar of prayer; a man who believes that if there is a man to pray, there is also a God to answer. If anyone will experience breakthrough in prayers, he must first of all build a life of prayer, and his prayer must be meaningful and precise. God doesn’t just answer prayers because we pray. Our prayers must be in line with His standard. If our prayers are well guided by the leading of the Spirit, we are much closer to getting God’s answer to them [1 Jn. 5:14-15).
Our prayers must be backed up with the assurance that God hears us when we pray (Psa 35:4). Our prayer must be directed by God’s will (cf. 1 Jn. 2:1). Our faith is made manifest in the knowledge of God’s will. Above all, you can’t get God’s answer if you ignore His directives and commands. Breakthrough prayers are results of obedience, i.e., doing God’s will for your life. Align with Him and work in His mandate for your life, then your prayers shall breakthrough.

1. Oh Lord, may Your will for my life be made manifest in all affairs of my life.
2. Lord, may my fleshly desire submit to the leadership of Your Spirit in me.
3. Pray that church leaders at all levels will teach God’s people to pray correctly.
