TOPIC: TIME TO REWARD YOUR PAUL

MEMORISE : Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress (Philippians 4:14).

READ: Philippians 4:10-20

[10]. But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity.

[11]. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

[12]. I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

[13]. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

[14]. Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress.

[15]. Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.

[16]. For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.

[17]. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.

[18]. Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

[19]. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

[20]. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

EXPOSITION

Christians deeply respect and admire their spiritual leaders, as encouraged in the Bible. These leaders, like your “Paul,” have made significant contributions to your life, supporting you through difficult times and personal crises. They dedicate their time and talents to benefiting you without expecting anything in return. Many ministers endure great suffering for their congregations. While they don’t ask for help, it’s important to willingly assist them when needed. These ministers are chosen, trained, empowered by the Church, and sent by God to serve and care for you. They helped you with fasting, praying, staying awake at night, giving prophetic messages, and going on difficult journeys. They suffered for you, just like Paul helped the Philippians. The Philippians willingly showed their appreciation to Paul without him having to ask. Some ministers of God go extra mile and spend their own money on church members to spread the gospel, but they take the tithes to another church or place. You want to receive divine victories, breakthroughs, children, jobs, contracts, and other blessings from the Church God has put you, yet you give your offerings somewhere else, God charges to stop that attitude of ingratitude, NOW! It is time to reward God’s ministers in your church. You won’t regret doing it. Happy Employee Appreciation Day.

SUGGESTED HYMN FOR TODAY:
CAC GHB: 567

1. Saviour, like a shepherd lead us,
Much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use Thy folds prepare;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

2. We are Thine; do Thou be friend us,
Be the Guardian of our way;
Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us,
Seek us when we go astray:
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Hear Thy children when they pray
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Hear Thy children when they pray.

3. Thou hast promised to receive us,
Poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us,
Grace to cleanse, and make us free:
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Early let us turn to Thee.
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Early let us turn to Thee.

4. Early let us seek Thy favour;
Early let us do Thy will;
Blessed Lord and only Saviour,
With Thy love our bosoms fill;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Thou hast loved us, love us still.
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Thou hast loved us, love us still.

Amen.
