TOPIC: THE BLESSED MAN

MEMORISE : The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it (Proverb 10:22).

READ: Psalm 1:1-3

[1]. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

[2]. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

[3]. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

EXPOSITION

God’s blessings are intricately connected to His divine glory and can manifest in various forms, even beyond mere financial wealth. What is certain is that, when you experience His blessings, you will find immense joy and happiness. So, on this World Art Day and the commemoration of the life and times of late Pastor D. O. Odubanjo, we shall consider what it means to be blessed?

A truly blessed individual maintains a deep connection with God, is revered, respected and radiates inner and outer beauty. Typically, the blessed do not align with the falsehoods of those lacking God’s knowledge. They do not walk the same path as sinners, avoiding entanglements with unbelievers who lack God’s presence (Rom. 1 28- 32; 2 Cor 6:14-18) They conscientiously avoid transgressions, be it against God’s divine law, or the laws of the land. It is important to remain on the right track. When facing trials, the blessed don’t falter, for they know that God is ever-present to help them. Their conduct, character, and attire set them apart from the crowd as people of the Word, prayer and worship

Be vigilant against the devil’s tactics aim to steal, kill and destroy God’s blessings in our lives (Jn. 10:10). Our lives flourish when we abide in God, like branches connected to the vine. The truly blessed are drenched in the Living Water, making them fruitful. Stop pursuing fleeting material blessings at the expense of eternal ones. Rid yourself of worldly wishes that may strip you of eternal blessings. What are you pursuing in life the perishable or the imperishable? And from whom do you seek your blessings? Remember he who pays the piper dictates the tune
