TOPIC: PANEL BEATER OR WIFE BEATER?

EXPOSITION

The spate of domestic violence, especially on women and children, is on the high side. On yearly basis, across the globe, there are reported and recorded cases of domestic violence. The social ill and evil is getting more attention because of consequences it has always left on its toll. Everything begins from foundational orientation. Male children who grew up in the environment where their mothers were bullied, harassed and molested are likely to believe in treating women so! There are men who believe and trust in their shambolic upbringing! When a panel beater works on a motor car, he hits and strikes where necessary. His aim is to remove the dross and the surface to become shinning once again when the paint completes the job. Really, matrimonial home is the tertiary institution for women. The training received before, is completed and complemented in marriage. Women become better off when the trainings are understood and internalised. However, any attempt to use physical force, violence and molestation as ways of correction, such attitude is satanic and inhumane-it is satanic!

On this Pillow Fight Day and International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, husbands who raise hands on their wives need to be checked mentally. The Bible calls wife as part and parcel of her husband (Eph. 5: 25-29). Do you hit and hate your body? Husbands who see Christ as their Head will never be tempted or provoked to beat their wives.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, assist all husbands to treat their wives as queens.

2. Oh Lord, destroy the spirit of beast that makes me molest and harass my better half.

3. The sacrificial love that makes Christ to cherish the Church with His last blood cells, grant unto me, Lord.
