TOPIC: KEYS TO ANSWERED PRAYER (I)
MEMORISE : When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood (Isaiah 1:15).
READ : Isaiah 1:10-15
[10]. Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom; give ear to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah:
[11]. “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord. “I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed cattle. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs or goats.
[12]. “When you come to appear before Me, who has required this from your hand, to trample My courts?
[13]. Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies— I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting.
[14]. Your New Moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; They are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them.
[15]. When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.
EXPOSITION
One of the benefits we have as Christians is the privilege to pray unto God with the assurance that He hears us. What a wonderful privilege for us! Virtually, everybody on earth prays, but the content of prayer, the methodology and unto whom they pray differ from person to person. The case of David and Goliath refers here. Goliath invoked his gods while David called on the Living God, YAHWEH. Whom do you pray to your parents, boss, husband, the devil and his demons, or the Living God through Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 10: 20)?
Of a truth, he who doesn’t pray becomes prey (Matt. 26:41). It is better to pray so as not to be preyed upon. Another issue that concerns prayer is whether the prayer is acceptable or not. Not all prayers are acceptable to God (cf. Isa. 1:10ff). Acceptable prayer is the prayer that is heard and answered. Many people are on the mountains, praying to God, but their prayers aren’t reaching God. Are you sure your prayers are reaching God? Check yourself. When you pray, do you have the assurance in your spirit by the Spirit of God that such prayers have been answered? Are there no things you need to settle with the Lord, now? God detests prayer of the sinners. Turn to God today and secure your victory in answered prayers.

1. Lord, give me the right attitude to prayer.
2. Lord Jesus, I repent of every known and unknown iniquity in life that hinders my prayers to God from being answered.
3. Pray for the CAC Department of Christian Education, the Director and the staff as led by the spirit of God.
