TOPIC: LOOKING BEYOND YOUR LIMITATION
MEMORISE : So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way (Luke 19:4).
READ :Luke 19:1-9
[1]. Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
[2]. Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
[3]. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.
[4]. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.
[5]. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
[6]. So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully.
[7]. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”
[8]. Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”
[9]. And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;
EXPOSITION
When we look beyond our limitations, we can achieve great things for, and in God. Despite being short, Zacchaeus’ determination was to make sure Jesus saw him climbing. Jesus noticed and invited him. This shocked the people because Zacchaeus was a tax collector generally considered a sinner. However, Zacchaeus was transformed by Jesus’ visit and repented of his sins, giving a substantial part of his possessions back to the cheated people. Don’t let your limitations stop you from seeking Jesus or achieving your goals. You may face obstacles and opposition, but you can overcome them with determination, faith and willingness to change. So, open yourself to Jesus’ love and grace.
Looking beyond our limitations requires a shift in perspective and mindset. Instead of focusing on what we lack or cannot do, we should focus on what we can do in Christ Jesus and how we can use our strength and resources to accomplish our purposes. We should also be open to learning, growing and seeking help from others who can support and guide us. Zacchaeus reminds us that we are not defined by our limitations but by our choices and actions. We can choose to let our limitations hold us back or to look beyond them and pursue our dreams and purposes. With God’s help, we can overcome our limitations and achieve huge success that glorifies Him and blesses others.
PRAYER POINTS
1. I refuse to give in to limitation in any form, in Jesus’ name.
2. I declare this day that with the help of God, I will achieve greater things in life and ministry, in Jesus’ name.
3. Pray for people who are passing through a challenge or the other that God should make them overcomers, in Jesus’ name.
