TOPIC: FEAR NOT

MEMORISE : But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.(Isaiah 43: 1).

READ : Isaiah 43:1-7

[1]. But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

[2]. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

[3]. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

[4]. Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life.

[5]. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west;

[6]. I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth—

[7]. Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”

EXPOSITION

Fear not, for the Lord God is with you. He has promised to be your strength and shield, to guide you through the trials tribulations of life. He has called you by name and you belong Him. You are precious in His sight and He loves you unconditionally. In our text, the Lord speaks to His people, assuring them of His faithfulness and protection. He reminds them that He is their Creator and Redeemer He promises to be with them in the fire and waters, to bring them oute their trials and into a place of safety. God is ever faithful (Num. 23:19)! It is natural to feel fear in the face of uncertainty and danger. But the Lord commands us not to fear, for He is with us. He has promised to be our Refuge and Strength, our very present help in times of trouble. We can trust in His promises, knowing that He is faithful and true.

So, fear not, dear friend. The Lord is with you, and He will neither leave nor forsake you. He has called you by name and you belong to Him. Trust in Him with all your heart, and He will guide you through the storms of life. May you find comfort and peace in the promises of God and may His love fill you with hope and joy. Fear not, for the Lord God is with you, now and always. Shalom!

SUGGESTED HYMN FOR TODAY:
CAC GHB: 849

1. Peace, doubting heart! My God’s I am:
Who formed me man, forbids my fear;
The lord hath called me by my name;
The lord protects, for ever near;
His blood for me did once atone,
And still he loves and guards his own.

2. When passing through the watery deep,
I ask in faith His promised aid,
The waves an awful distance keep,
And shrink from my devoted head;
Fearless their violence I dare;
They cannot harm for God is there.

3. To Him mine eye of faith I turn,
And through the fire pursue my way
The fire forgets its pow’r to burn,
The lambent flames around me play;
I own His pow’r, accept the sign,
And shout to prove the Saviour mine.

4. Still nigh me, O my Saviour, stand!
And guard in fierce temptation’s hour;
Hide in the hollow of Thy hand,
Show forth in me Thy saving pow’r
Still be Thy arms my sure defence,
Nor earth nor hell shall pluck me thence.

5. Since Thou hast bid me come to Thee
Good as Thou art, and string to save
I’ll walk o’er life’s tempestuous sea,
Upborne by the unyielding wave,
Dauntless, though rocks of pride be near,
And yawning whirlpools of despair.

6. When darkness intercepts the skies
And sorrow’s waves around me roll,
When high the storms of passion rise
And half o’erwhelm my sinking soul,
My soul a sudden calm shall feel,
And hear a whisper peace; be still!

7. Though in affliction’s furnace tried,
Unhurt on snares and death I’ll tread;
Though sin assail, and hell, thrown wide
Pour all its flames upon my head,
Like Moses’ bush, I’ll mount higher,
And flourish unconsumed in fire.

Amen.
