LETTER FROM CHRIST

READ: 2 Corinthians 3:3

MEMORISE:

Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart (2 Corinthians 3:3)

EXPOSITION

Apostle Paul wrote letters. His letters became epistles. Paul said that we are letters from Christ. Wow! The true credentials of ministry are changed lives: living epistles. That is our ministry: to live out the life that God has given us through faith in Christ.

Paul said that we are letters from Christ. The author is Christ. Christ uses us as an instrument, a vessel, or a channel to connect with the world. God can speak to us in a spoken word, a written letter, a gentle touch, or any act of godliness. We are not written with ink. We are written by the Spirit of the living God. The ink is the Holy Spirit. He writes on our hearts. The indwelling Spirit becomes a law, written on our hearts. He is in us to guide us. He completes and fulfils the work of the written law in our hearts. The Spirit gives life. With this spiritual life, we can live out the law of God.

The Lord had said, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statues, and you will keep My judgments and do them (Ezek. 36:26-27).

Be Christ’s letter to the world. Just like tourists go to visit tourism centres and later return to their homes, we are here on earth as pilgrims passing by, on our way to Heaven. We must represent Christ well, here. Pray for a new heart and a new spirit.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Dear God, forgive us for writing wrong letters with our disobedience to your instructions for us.

2. O God, our lives are changed because of your intervention, may darkness never gain victory over the light of Christ that is in us.

3. Help us heavenly Father so that we may continue to be letters from Christ, written by the Spirit of the living God.
