December 5, 2020 Spirit Meat Devotional : Topic – ROLES OF THE MAN AND WOMAN IN MARRIAGE (3) – Ephesians 5:22-24

Earlier in this series, we have highlighted the importance of submission from the wife for correct joining to take place in a marriage. As a woman, don’t try to manipulate your husband in marriage to get him to do your will. If you feel your husband is not mature enough to marry you, help him to stay under a pastor that you trust his wisdom and judgment because God did not give you headship over that man. Your husband may get born-again today and you have been born-again for ten years, but he is still your head. Help him to stay under a pastor you submit to when he gets born-again.
Over the years I have pastored sisters that I have trained, who are very sound. Some of them married brothers that are lower than them spiritually and I told them that I would change my relationship with them. They wondered why and I explained to them that since the husband is the head, I would pick the husbands and relate with them like I have related with the sisters when they were single, so that the husbands can come up. Whenever the marriage is right, the men would jack up within six months and take spiritual leadership, but if they married wrong, the men are going to be complete vegetables as far as spiritual things are concerned.
If the husband is not pushing for spiritual headship no matter how busy he is, the wife is in trouble, but if the marriage is right, in no time the husband will begin to take his proper place.
PRAYER: I receive the grace to walk in submission as a woman and the grace to walk in correct headship as a man in Jesus name.
