ARE YOU READY?

Read:  Matthew 25:1-13

Matthew 25:1-13  Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

MEMORISE:

Then He said to another ‘follow me’. But he said ‘Lord, let me first go and bury my father (Luke 9:59)

EXPOSITION

This is a big question that needs clear answer. If your answer is in the negative you must adjust your way fast. Don’t be like the foolish five who were not really ready. These virgins considered themselves friend of the bridegroom, but they did not live in a way that anticipated his return. They were thinking only about how to make things comfortable in the present moment, not how to be faithful in their assignment to God.

When one becomes too much concerned about mundane and transient things, the affection is no more on heavenly things (Col. 3:1; Mt. 6:24), Christ tells us to be ever ready to meet Him for His coming will be so sudden. What is your level of preparedness? He needs your passionate preparation and high expectation.

Family approval, inheritance, security, economy, etc. should not prevent us from being ready for God. Readiness for Him is not an option but a must. Spiritual preparation can’t be bought or borrowed, we must live it. Be ready to obey, follow, sacrifice and be humbly involved in the work of Evangelism. It is Work, Walk, While Waiting for Him.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Pray that the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ will not meet you unaware and unprepared.

2. Pray that the Grace of God will lead you home anytime the rapture will take place.

3. Pray for all Christians that the grace to be watchful and careful at all time will be released unto them, so that we shall all reign with Christ.
