BACKED BY GOD.
Read Exodus 3:1-14.
MEMORISE: So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain (Exodus 3:12).
EXPOSITION
It is believed that the boldness of a child to stand when being threatening by a more powerful person is due to the person supporting/defending him. The confidence of the child is based on the available defender. The child somehow believes his parents would definitely defend or fight for him. Moses’ confidence to go back to Egypt and confront Pharaoh for the freedom and liberation of Israel from bondage was solely based on God’s backing. God assured him of His all-time presence to defend him on his mission (Exodus 3:12).
This also applies to believers. Our victories in the battle and journey through this wicked world should solely be based on God’s backing. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Is Paul’s rhetorical challenge (Rom. 8:31). We should be confident in the All-powerful God we serve. Do you really know this Great God? (2 Tim. 1:12) if you are truly born again, He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (I John 4:4b).
We must learn to lean on God as our defender, from who we can draw the strength to face life realities. Life challenges may not bow to us as humans, but they must bow to God, just as Egypt bower to Moses because of God’s backing in his life (Phil. 2:9-10; cf. 4:13).
To have God’s backing in your life and endeavours, today, you must first give yo life to Jesus. It is then you can have access to His provisions for victory over Satan, sin, self, the world, and he’ll (Matt. 6:33; Rev. 12:11). If you can bow to God to be backed by Him, life issues will bow to Him in you.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. O Lord, be my defender against the foes of my life.
2. Lord, in my life endeavours, help me to do the things You expect from me to sustain Your hundred percent backing.
3. O Lord, defend Your Church in the land against every internal and external aggressions.
