TOPIC: SUCCESS IN THE STORM

Read Matthew 8:23-27

MEMORISE: You have caused men to ride over our head; we went through fire and through water, but you brought us out to rich fulfilment (Psalms 66:12)

EXPOSITION

When storm breaks in, all the light items will be blown away. There will be particles everywhere. All the places will be disorganized. At times, there will be loss of things, properties, lives and so on. But one can make success in the storm, if it is rightly handled. What matters most in the situation of life is how you handle the difficult situation. As disciples of Christ, God has given us power over every difficult situation. Storm comes, and it will go. Everything is under the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Having Jesus in your life does not exempt you from experiencing the storm of life, you only have the assurance of overcoming through Christ. Look at the text for our study, Jesus was in the boat with the disciples, and at the same time, there was a great tempest on the sea. Having Jesus in your marriage does not free it from storm. The same thing happens to your business, etc. But if you experience storm in any aspect of your life, you have no reason to fear, if Christ is by your side. You need to learn these:

•  Learn to lean on Jesus in your life.

•  Learn to exercise faith you have in Jesus Christ to stop the storm.

•  Never allow fear to occupy your mind.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, still the storm of my life.

2. Lord, do not allow the power of the world to overcome me.

3. Lord, add more to the faith of those who are passing through the storm of life.
